Pocket MapleStory for Kakao (KR Vers.)

Anyone else have an opportunity to play it? Was curious to see if I could manage to do so and got it running on BlueStacks for PC.

Needless to say, those Koreans got it better than those on Global version of PMS.

Just take a look at the basic login rewards.



I'm gonna keep trying this out and play some of the new classes/characters (Mechanic, Kaiser, Mercedes, Shade/Eunwol).

If anyone else is interested, just download BlueStacks and then search for "포켓 메이플스토리 for Kakao apk" in Google - should be the first link.

If you have trouble getting it to work, let me know and I'll do my best to help.

Edit: Just an FYI, I don't speak/read any Korean so I wouldn't be any help there. And when it came to creating a character, I just entered random letters until it made a character.

Hm... maybe it's been around long enough that they had to inflate their economy. That, or they created the global one off of old and unbalanced files. I do notice that the meso-gaining in PMS seems to be very off kilter in comparison to the meso-spending. Interesting post... I wish I knew Korean! Maybe someone will join us at some point who knows at least a little Korean.

I have watched a few videos, and correct me if I'm wrong, but neither K or J PMS have the VIP system?

If so, then it's clear why the reward system is drastically different...

What? They think were the only ones that will sink massive amounts of money into the game via VIP? I kinda wish the VIP system was nullified >.<

Yeah, there's no VIP system in KPMS. There's also a lot of things that they've got that Global doesn't regarding the Candy Shop.

There's a Premium Capsule Machine that gives out pets/mounts and various items.


There's two more sections in the Pet & Mount category - Meso pets and super cheap Candy pets.
Pets/Mounts appear to be permanent considering there's no 1, 10, or 30 Day options when buying.


There's Weapon skins in the Fashion section.

Also, the meso pet have something to do with Guild Wars. Haven't gotten much into it because I don't have a guild, but I'm going to look further into this.

Honestly this is typical. Brave Frontier (another popular mobile game) went the same way with their "Global" version. In short the Korean/Japanese (in the case of BF) versions succeed then when they get ported over to Global versions they also get filled with micro transactions.

I try to sign up for the naver app store but when i type username it says the thing about characters special numbers etc. And doesnt let me continue..any way to fix that?

Which meso pet? I was co-owner of a leading World vs World guild on GW2 for a long time, I can probably help you.

I actually stopped playing KPMS when Kaiser came out lol, I'll probably get back to it as soon as my Kaiser hits level 130.
